Dredging Season Begins

August 11, 2014 by eTrac

This month marked the start of a busy season for dredging in the San Francisco Bay. eTrac is currently working on multiple projects related to port, marina, and channel maintenance. eTrac works closely with the dredging contractors and the US Army Corp of Engineers to complete pre, post and conditional surveys using multibeam survey techniques.

Hydrographic multibeam and topographic surveys were combined to map a sediment trap in a small marina in San Francisco. The data were processed using Hypack, OPS Qinsy, and QPS Qloud. AutoCAD Civil 3D was then used to model the data.
