Sub-bottom Profiler Used for Pipeline Location

April 30, 2015 by eTrac

eTrac was contracted to locate a pipeline submerged approximately 15ft below the seafloor in the San Francisco Bay. A Teledyne Benthos Chirp III sub-bottom profiler was mobilized on SV Pulse for high resolution sub-surface imagery. An R2 Sonic 2024 running at 400khz was used to image subsea diffusers as well as along and around the charted pipeline route. The pipeline was located and positioned horizontally and vertically.
